Colombian premium brand Dictador Rum has officially launched in Austria, thanks to a new distribution deal with Salud Austria. This marks the first time Austrian consumers will gain access to the brand’s award-winning, aged rum expressions.
Founded in 1913, Dictador Rum blends three generations of Colombian rum craftsmanship with a contemporary twist. The Parra family uses Colombian sugarcane honey to produce each batch, aiming to “capture the essence of the Caribbean,” according to the brand.
Now debuting in Austria, the lineup includes:
In addition to its aged rums, Dictador Rum has taken a bold step into the world of art with The Game Changer, a bottle designed by French sculptor Richard Orlinski. This collectible edition reinforces Dictador’s commitment to combining luxury, art, and innovation.
Maria Kitsati, country director of Salud Spirits, shared her enthusiasm with The Spirits Business:
“We are beyond proud to welcome Dictador Rum. This brand aligns perfectly with our vision and represents the pinnacle of what premium spirits can be. We cannot wait to introduce these exquisite rums to enthusiasts and connoisseurs in every corner of Austria.”
Salud Austria continues to strengthen its offerings in the luxury spirits space. In recent months, the distributor has secured partnerships with celebrity-backed brands, including Dos Hombres Mezcal (co-founded by Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston) and Papa Salt Gin (co-founded by Margot Robbie). The company also added more single malts from Scarabus, Loch Lomond, and Glen Scotia.
With this Austrian debut, Dictador Rum signals its ambition to grow in high-end European markets. The combination of aging mastery, unique blends, and creative collaborations makes the brand a standout choice for rum enthusiasts seeking something truly refined.
