They are passionate about rum and only recommend the best. The Ultimate Awards team understands how important it is for this era of social media and influencers to become opinion leaders in all areas. We have launched a new competition with TheRumLab called The Ultimate Social Media Rum Influencers of the Year.

Being an influencer is not an easy job. It is a responsibility that necessitates exceptional communication skills, the ability to attract an audience, as well as the time and creativity to generate consistent content for their social media platforms in order to gain recognition.

Executives at both companies have spent the last year thoroughly researching and following candidates on Instagram. “We’ve seen dozens of outstanding candidates who go above and beyond to educate and inform consumers all over the world.” Joselina Rodriguez, Marketing Director at TheRumLab.com, says

“We identified and nominated 8-10 influential people as the most notable influencers for 2022,” says Lilihana Lara Arévalo, Director of The Ultimate Awards. To be considered for this award, influencers must meet at least three of the four requirements on Instagram: (a) be active in social media posting on a regular basis, (b) have an individual account, (c) have more than 2k followers, and (d) have high engagement per post. Candidates are also chosen based on merit and recommendations from other industry experts. People can also help by nominating their favorite rum influencers at theultimateawards@gmail.com or on Instagram at @UltimateAwards.

The voting period begins on January 23rd and concludes on February 1st, 2023. The winner will receive bragging rights, an interview with TheRumLab.com, and a plaque at the 4th Miami Rum Congress, a two-day event focused on rum education and premiumization that will take place on February 10th and 12th at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach.
