On March 1st, 2025, Dallas, Texas will become the heart of the rum industry for the second time with the Texas Rum Fest celebration at Deep Ellum – 2616 Commerce ST. Event Center from 12:300 pm to 7:00 pm.

Texas stands out as one of the top four markets for the rum industry selling approximately 1 million cases a year in the United States. This growth is thanks to brands like Planteray Rum, Barbancourt Rhum, Dos Maderas, and Ron Centenario which offer a variety of new options to consumers. This festival not only celebrates the rich rum culture but also underscores the importance of Texas in the global rum market.

Having this in perspective and after achieving more than 250 attendees and 80 rum expressions in 2024, the TheRumLab team is bringing this new edition of the festival that promises an educational and sensorial experience, but now with a special addition: The Daiquiri Mania, a new program that celebrates creativity using the Daiquiri classic cocktail reimagined along with the music.

The three-key experience

The event will be focused on three keys: grand tasting, to enjoy and get to know new flavors and brands; seminars, for people who want to learn more about the industry and the stories behind the efforts of the participant brands; and networking, for those who are looking to expand their horizons.

All of these experiences will be enjoyed alongside amazing brands like Monymusk and Worthy Park Estate Jamaican Rum, Dominican Rum El Leon Jimenez, Rhum Clement from Martinique, Ron Carúpano from Venezuela, Belizian Rum Copalli, and other premium brands that will feature its products and flavors.

Rum Education Time: The seminars

In this edition, attendees will enjoy the Rum Around The World seminar, in which Kate Perry of LM&V guides a tasting journey through non-Caribbean rums traveling from the South Pacific to the Indian Ocean, stopping over in Southeast Asia with some surprises along the way. Geography class has never been this fun!

At 3:00 pm a panel of experts will provide a brief overview of the history of a specific period of the rum category in the Rum Through the Ages seminar

Finally, at 4:00 pm, Barbados Rum Canvas: A Palette of Flavors seminar will take place. The audience will uncover the true essence of Barbados rum: The island’s diverse distilling methods – from a myriad of vintage pot still styles and modern column stills – how to create a rich palette of rums and learn how these unique expressions, much like a painter selects and blends colors, to craft rum masterpieces.

This seminar will delve into the artistry of rum blending while giving the audience a chance to craft their own.

The Rum Lab and other great speakers are currently curating more educational seminars and should publish them shortly.

Tickets available

Depending on the level of enthusiasm, a variety of tickets are offered to those interested in attending the event from the “VIP Rum Expert,” who has early access to the event and seminar,” to those more in the line of Intro to Rum or DaiquiriMANIA.

DaiquiriManía which takes place from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm is a new program, tested in 2024,  that brings together rum enthusiasts, cocktail lovers, and music aficionados for delicious drinks and unforgettable tunes.

About the team

Led by Federico J. Hernández, the team behind this experience is also the producer of the New York & Puerto Rico Rum Festival & Conference a.k.a Taste of Rum, Miami Rum Congress, San Francisco, and the Chicago Rum Festival.
