Taste of Rum is one of the most important rum festivals in the Caribbean, which annually brings together the largest number of spirit brands in one place. The event is internationally acclaimed since it offers rummeliers and aficionados the opportunity to learn more about the rums produced in Puerto Rico.

This year Puerto Rico gets ready to hold the 12th edition on May 28 at Bahía Urbana, Old San Juan. In this regard, the director of the Rums of Puerto Rico Program of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce, Maité Jordán, said:

“The Rums of Puerto Rico Program is very committed to developing the rum industry on the island, as rum is part of our culture and tradition. For that reason, we’re pleased to support an event that serves as a tribute to our rum’s quality, variety, and versatility while continuing to position us as the ‘World Capital of Rum.’ In the same way, the festival provides an ideal platform to promote new brands and expressions to both locals and tourists, showing the great capacity for innovation that this legendary industry has. We invite you to join us in such an amazing experience so we together can support this great celebration.”

During the festival, the attendees can taste a variety of local rums, including Bacardí, Don Q, Club Caribe, Ron Trigo, Ron Coquí, PitoRico, Tres Clavos, Ron Rincón, Crab Island Rum, Ron Boricua, Ron Pepón, Ron del Barrilito, among many others. They can also enjoy different seminars and taste traditional food prepared by the most renowned restaurants on the island from the Puerto Rico Restaurant Association (ASORE).

Rum and food will be accompanied by live performances. The musical repertoire includes a tribute to Marc Anthony and Guns N’ Roses, as well as the participation of a Caribbean Steel Band, the group Cuentas Regresivas, and DJ Jorge Salgado.

The tickets are available on Ticketera, including special passes for “Rum Aficionados” with exclusive access to the event from 5:00 p.m., discount on food, unlimited rum samples (until they run out), Master Classes, and much more. On the other hand, General Admission tickets will provide access from 7:00 p.m. until the end of the event at 11:00 p.m.

For more than one decade, the Rum Festival has attracted more than 3,000 tourists from around the world, which has positively impacted the Puerto Rican economy, culture, and tourism.

The organizing committee, in charge of Federico Hernández from Empresas FH, confirmed that the capacity of the event will remain at 50% of the total capacity allowed in Bahía Urbana for the safe enjoyment of those who gather there.

Every year, the rum industry in Puerto Rico generates around 450 million dollars for the local economy, with a labor force that exceeds 16,000 direct and indirect jobs. Taste of Rum celebrates the industry development and legacy that embraces Caribbean culture. You can visit the Taste of Rum and Rums of Puerto Rico or their social media accounts for further information.
