Star Key Rum Takes Poland: A New Chapter Begins with Cerville Investments

Mauritian rum brand Star & Key continues its global expansion as it enters the Polish market in collaboration with local distributor Cerville Investments. This move marks another milestone in the brand’s mission to bring authentic, high-quality rum to new audiences.

A Strategic Move into Poland

Star Key Rum takes Poland with the strength of a proven partnership. Cobblestone Brands, which launched Star & Key in 2024, previously collaborated with Cerville Investments on Glendalough Distillery’s whiskey and gin. Now, both companies are extending that relationship to introduce Star & Key to Poland’s fast-evolving spirits scene.

Cerville board member Sławomir Kojło shared his excitement in The Spirits Business, saying:

“We’ve long admired the team behind Star & Key’s approach – their passion for authenticity, quality, and sense of place really resonates with modern spirits consumers.”

He also noted the strong initial reception:

“Our early placements and interest from top-tier retailers and bars have been fantastic. Poland is ready for a rum like this, and we’re excited to help it thrive.”

Crafted in Mauritius, Embraced in Poland

Produced at the historic Labourdonnais Estate in Mauritius, Star & Key stands out by using fresh sugarcane juice instead of molasses. This agricole-style production method reflects a deeper connection to the land and results in a vibrant flavor profile.

As Star Key Rum takes Poland, consumers gain access to two signature expressions:

  • VSOP Rum: Aged for at least four years in ex-Cognac casks, offering depth and smoothness.
  • Passion Fruit Rum: Infused with passion fruit grown on the Labourdonnais estate, bringing a tropical twist to the lineup.

Bringing the Taste of Mauritius to Wrocław

Co-founder and rum maker Nich Wiehe, whose family has managed the Labourdonnais estate for eight generations, plans to attend the Rum Love Festival in Wrocław on June 13–14. This event will allow him to meet trade partners and connect directly with Poland’s growing community of rum enthusiasts.

Wiehe told The Spirits Business:

“We don’t just make rum – we grow it, harvest it, distill, and age it all on our estate. To bring that story to life in Poland and meet rum lovers face to face is a privilege. I’m excited to share the taste of Mauritius with such a passionate and growing rum community.”

Part of a Bigger Global Vision

Star Key Rum takes Poland as part of a broader international growth plan. The brand has already seen successful launches in the US, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany, with Poland now joining the list of countries embracing this premium Mauritian spirit.

This expansion reflects a strategic focus on markets where consumers are increasingly curious about provenance, sustainability, and craftsmanship—all hallmarks of the Star & Key identity.
