Dos Maderas 5+5 PX is not just a rum; it’s a fusion of cultures and traditions. Its journey begins in Guyana and Barbados, where it matures for five years in ex-bourbon barrels, absorbing the rich, tropical character of its origins. It then crosses the Atlantic to Jerez, Spain, where it undergoes a second aging phase for another five years in century-old VOS (Very Old Sherry) Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximénez barrels, acquiring exceptional smoothness and complexity.
This double aging process, part of the traditional Solera system, gradually blends rums from top to bottom, allowing them to age an additional 3–5 years in sherry oak barrels. This meticulous method yields unique flavor profiles of raisins, dried fruits, dates, spice, and caramel, resulting in a deeply balanced spirit with a rich amber hue that reflects its journey and craftsmanship.
