Old Liquors Inc, a Miami-based company dealing in ultra-rare vintage wine and spirits, is pleased to announce the sale of a bottle of 1780 Harewood Barbados rum for a world record price of $29,999 to a collector in Switzerland. Since the 18th century, when it was made on the Harewood estate in Barbados, this rare and excellent rum has a storied past. It was discovered in 2011 in the cellar of Harewood House in England and sold for £7,990 (equivalent to $9,500) at Christie’s in 2013.
The recent sale of the 1780 Harewood Barbados rum for $29,999 demonstrates its worth and allure among rum connoisseurs. Old Liquors Inc. is honored to have had the chance to sell such a rare rum and expects that it will offer its new owner much pleasure.
