New York Rum Festival 2022

The Rum Lab is pleased to announce its 5th New York Rum Festival on June 18, 2022, at Metropolitan Pavilion, New York City.

More than 40 leading, premium brands from different parts of the world will participate in the event, showcasing at least four expressions. So, the attendees will enjoy around 160 rums.

In addition, the attendees will have the opportunity to join different seminars presented by recognized industry experts, Master Distillers, and Brand Ambassadors from the participating brands. Here are some of them:

  • Yet to Be Discovered Rums. The speakers Eric Kaye (from Holmes Cay) and Alexander Kong (from Worthy Park Estate) will be offering the opportunity to learn and taste rums that are still in consideration to be released shortly.
  • Assessing Rum Following West Technique. Rob McCaughey & Deniece Bourne are the speakers of this seminar that teaches specific techniques for tasting, sipping, and smelling rum following the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) technique.
  • Rums from Mexico. This seminar will introduce Mexico’s sugar cane industry and its world importance, together with a look into the Rones de Mexico Distillery, the home of the most awarded rums in the country.
  • Basics to Sipping Premium Rum, An interactive experience with industry professionals and aficionados. In this seminar, the public will join our panel of experts, instructors, and aficionados to taste and discuss premium rums: tasting notes, sipping techniques, and much more. This activity will be in charge of Rummelier.com.

The festival is designed in three sessions, so the attendees can have an immersive experience in all our activities:

  1. The Spirit Industry Session. It consists of a 1.5-hour program (from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) for members of the trade (bar, restaurant, and retail sale of beer/spirits) and beverage sector media. The industry professionals will have the opportunity to: (a) Network with the brand representative; (b) Access to Grand Tasting Room; (c) Attend brand seminars; (d) Mingle with industry colleagues. Cost of the ticket: $45.00
  2. VIP Grand Tasting Session. It consists of a 5.5-hour program (from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) that offers the attendees: (a) 2.5-hour early admission; (b) Exclusive tasting cup; (c) Taste premium rums; (d) Attend brand seminars. Cost of the ticket: $95.00
    1. DUO VIP Grand Tasting. It allows 2 (two) people to attend the event for 5.5 hours (2:00-7:30 p.m.) and offers attendees: (a) 2.5-hour early admission; (b) Exclusive tasting cup; (c) Taste premium rums; (d) Attend brand seminars. Cost of the ticket: $175.00
  3. General Admission Tasting Session. It consists of a 3-hour program (from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) in which attendees will enjoy: (a) 3oz souvenir cup; (b) Access to Grand Tasting Room; (c) Attend brand seminars. Cost of the ticket: $75.00
    1. DUO General Admission Tasting Session. It allows 2 (two) people to attend the event for 3 hours (4:30-7:30 p.m.). Also, it includes (a) 3oz souvenir cup; (b) Access to Grand Tasting Room; (c) Attending brand seminars. Cost of the ticket: $130.00

There will also be a “Designated Driver Pass” for those who will not drink alcoholic beverages during the festival. Their entry will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Designated drivers will not receive a sampling cup, and if any of them is seen with an alcoholic drink, they will be asked to leave the event. The cost of this pass is $20.00.

Every year, the New York Rum Festival expects to receive hundreds of people, including brand representatives, rum industry experts, aficionados, locals, and tourists.
