We are calling all rum lovers! TheRumLab.com is thrilled to announce the 3rd Los Angeles Rum Fest (POP UP), also known as the California Rum Fest SoCal Edition. This boutique-style event will occur on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, at the Haas Building DTLA Rooftop.

Pop-up experience: sunset, rhythm, and sipping

You read right! The event’s classification as a pop-up is due to its simplified structure: two seminars, a music area with a guest DJ, powered by LA’s Caña Rum Bar, and other engaging experiences.

All of it is infused by the skyline view of LA with the iconic Golden Coast sunset while sipping on topline premium rum. Yeah! An unforgettable night.

Learning and connecting

Alongside brand ambassadors of premium brands such as Barbancourt, Clément, and Santa Teresa, the festival promises an intimate and educational experience that elevates the rum category through dynamics like expositions, talks, seminars, and much more.

“Rum Festivals are more than a tasting experience. The events have evolved from just a party experience to an educational platform where the trade, rum aficionado, tiki cravers, and newcomers come to enrich their knowledge.”- Federico Hernández, TheRumLab, and Los Angeles Rum Fest founder.

What about the Seminars?

The first seminar will be “French Heritage in Rhum” by Ewan Henderson (partner at The Rum Geography), a serial entrepreneur and industry veteran of 25+ years, and Daniel Tindal (Commercial Director at Crillon Importers), an expert in the industry with experience in marketing, advertising, and sales for acclaimed and recognized brands.

On the other hand, Federico J. Hernández, founder of The Rum Lab, will be hosting the Puerto Rican Rum in Tiki Cocktails & Beyond seminar, along with other distinguished industry experts from Puerto Rico.

This talk will be an insightful space about the role of Puerto Rican by exploring its rich history, unique characteristics, and versatility, showcasing its essential place in the tiki tradition and its potential in modern mixology.

In addition, the festival will be offering a variety of tickets, each offering different experiences and prices to access:

California, a lab for Rum

The United States has emerged as a pivotal force within the global rum industry. With a rich history dating back to the colonial era, when rum was the nation’s most popular spirit, the country is now experiencing a spirited resurgence.

California, in particular, has become an epicenter for rum consumption. The state’s diverse population and thriving cocktail culture have contributed to its status as one of the largest rum markets in the nation.

This growing demand has spurred increased interest in exploring different rum styles, production methods, and flavor profiles, making it an exciting time for both consumers and industry professionals.

California and beyond

The Rum Industry has abundant growth potential if brands broaden their vision.

That’s why, the team behind Los Angeles Rum Fest is committed to crushing the entry-consumer barrier by creating and producing more educational experiences, like the Puerto Rico Rum Festival “Taste of Rum”, Miami Rum Congress, California, New York, San Francisco Rum Fest, and the Chicago Rum Festival.

Events that attracted hundreds of people from trade, rum aficionados, tourists & locals.

Los Angeles Rum Fest promises to be an immersive journey into the world of Rum, Don’t miss this exceptional opportunity to sip, learn, and celebrate all things rum!
