Captain Morgan has introduced its latest innovation, Sweet Chili Lime Rum, just in time for summer. With a 35% ABV, this bold new spirit delivers a balance of sweet and spicy rum flavors, designed to be enjoyed as a chilled shot or mixed into cocktails.
Anne Nosko, vice president of Captain Morgan, highlighted the inspiration behind the new release. “With flavor trends heating up, we wanted to create something that defies the rules of traditional rum. Captain Morgan Sweet Chili Lime gives fans exactly what they’re craving – the perfect balance of sweet and spicy rum, offering a bold flavor experience with every sip.”
To promote this exciting release, Captain Morgan has partnered with Canadian actress Amrit Kaur and American comedian Devon Walker. Their campaign centers around the product’s “mouth-blowing” flavors, emphasizing the need to shake up routine spirit choices, especially as warm weather approaches.
Walker shared his excitement about collaborating with Captain Morgan again, saying, “When they asked me to help define mouth-blowing, I wasn’t exactly sure where they were going with it, but I was all in.” Kaur, known for her role in HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls, added, “It was a lot of fun riffing and improvising with Devon, along with the full cast and crew.”
To enhance the bold flavors of Sweet Chili Lime rum, Captain Morgan has teamed up with snack brand Pretzelized, offering a complementary pairing with its sea salt pretzels. This collaboration enhances the drinking experience by combining savory snacks with the rum’s vibrant taste.
Captain Morgan Sweet Chili Lime joins a growing trend of innovative spirit flavors. Recent additions to the market include a cinnamon-flavored tequila and two oat-based liqueurs from Baileys. This launch also follows the debut of Sierra’s Tropical Chilli tequila in April 2023, proving that sweet and spicy rum and spirits are capturing consumer interest worldwide.
Consumers can purchase a 750ml bottle of Sweet Chili Lime rum for $16. Additional sizes include 50ml, 375ml, 1L, and 1.75L formats, making it accessible for a variety of occasions.
