The Miami Rum Congress, hosted by The Rum Lab, returned to the Miami Beach Convention Center from February 6 to 8, 2026, bringing together rum professionals and enthusiasts from across the globe. As reported by The Spirits Business, the event forms part of a broader international series, with upcoming editions planned in Puerto Rico, New York, and Spain.

At the heart of the action, the Cantineros Game Miami delivered a high-energy showcase of flair bartending, blending performance, precision, and creativity into one unforgettable competition.

Cantineros Game Miami: A Growing Global Competition

Since its debut in 2024, the Cantineros Game Miami has expanded quickly, attracting top-tier bartenders worldwide. This year, more than 30 applicants competed for just 12 spots, with each finalist representing a different country.

The competition celebrates bartenders who excel in flair bartending, technical execution, creativity, and showmanship—especially within tiki and tropical cocktail styles.

Cantineros Game Miami Challenge: Speed Meets Precision

To raise the stakes, organizers designed a fast-paced challenge. Each bartender had to prepare three cocktails—either two tiki and one tropical or the reverse—within just seven minutes.

Judges enforced strict timing rules. Competitors who exceeded the limit faced penalties or disqualification.

Meanwhile, participants elevated their performances by selecting their own music and incorporating personalized flair routines into their cocktail preparation. As a result, each presentation felt like a mini show.

Cantineros Game Miami Judging Criteria and Scoring

Judges evaluated each performance across multiple dimensions to ensure a well-rounded competition:

  • Flair and technique: up to 35 points
  • Cocktail execution: up to 30 points
  • Showmanship and performance: up to 20 points
  • Creativity: up to 10 points

Additionally, judges required cocktails to meet aesthetic standards and proper serving techniques. This combination ensured that competitors balanced artistry with technical excellence.

Cantineros Game Miami Winners and Highlights

After an intense showdown, Rodrigo Felix claimed first place. Joseph Chavarria secured second place, while Gaston Santandreu finished third.

Winners received cash prizes, trophies, and valuable points toward the Global Flair Bartending Ranking—further boosting their international careers.

Cantineros Game Miami Sets the Stage for 2027

Looking ahead, organizers plan to scale the competition even further. The next edition, titled the World Cantineros Game 2027, will take place on February 4–5 at the same Miami venue.

The event aims to gather at least 24 bartenders from five continents. Organizers will invite the 12 finalists from 2026 and select 12 new competitors through an open registration process.

Day one will feature a qualification round, narrowing the field to 12. Then, on day two, finalists will compete in the grand finale for the global title.
