Jamaica’s rich rum legacy takes center stage at the new Appleton Estate Rum Museum, a limited-time pop-up that invites fans to explore the heart and soul of one of the island’s most iconic brands. Located at 23 Dominica Drive in New Kingston, the interactive space will remain open until July 13.

A Fresh Way to Experience Jamaican Rum Culture

The museum offers a fresh, engaging way to connect with the brand’s deep roots in Jamaican heritage. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to rum, the museum caters to all by providing a journey through the production process—from distillation to aging in oak barrels.

With hands-on exhibits, visitors don’t just read about the process—they experience it. The pop-up promises an “edutainment” experience, combining education with entertainment in a vibrant, modern setting.

A Mission to Engage and Inspire New Generations

According to Dominic Bell, communications manager at J Wray & Nephew, the supplier of Appleton Estate:

“It’s about connecting with Jamaica’s rum legacy and welcoming a new generation into the world of Appleton through an experience that’s both educational and fun.”

Bell emphasized that the Appleton Estate Rum Museum represents more than just a historical timeline.

“This museum is a dynamic space where visitors can feel, taste, and understand the soul of Appleton Estate,” he told The Spirits Business.

Showcasing Signature Blends and Mixability

Beyond storytelling, the new space highlights the brand’s mixability by featuring beloved expressions like the Signature Blend and 8-Year-Old Reserve. This not only appeals to existing fans but also draws in curious newcomers eager to explore how Appleton rums can be enjoyed in cocktails.

A Scaled-Down Yet Powerful Experience

Bell also described the pop-up as a “scaled-down version” of the Appleton Estate Rum Experience in St. Elizabeth, the brand’s full visitor center and distillery tour.

“This will be an immersive ‘edutaining’ experience that will bring alive the making of the rum we love so much within our Jamaican households,” he added.

Supporting Tourism and Global Rum Education

By launching the Appleton Estate Rum Museum, the brand aims to strengthen consumer engagement, attract tourists, and promote Jamaican rum knowledge both locally and internationally. Owned by the Campari Group, Appleton Estate continues to celebrate its craft under the guidance of renowned master blender Joy Spence.
