An Unusual Combination of Coffee and Rum

The renowned manufacturer in Venezuela, Santa Teresa 1796, is pleased to present their newest offering, Santa Teresa Arabica Coffee Cask Finish. For rum lovers and coffee experts alike, this unique and outstanding mix represents a revolutionary moment. Additionally, the brand is launching a new and updated visual identity that honors centuries of heritage.

The Venezuelan Solera rum, is the first step in the Santa Teresa Arabica Coffee Cask Finish. It is prized for its ultra-premium quality and low sugar content, with only 3 grams of sugar per 750-ml bottle. This rum is further aged for three months in American white oak barrels that were originally used to mature a rum-based cold brew coffee. Without the use of chemicals, this painstaking procedure enhances the rum’s depth and character by infusing it with rich coffee tastes and aromas.

Made on-site at Hacienda Santa Teresa by the brand’s master distillers using premium Arabica coffee beans that are organically farmed, medium-roasted, and coarsely ground. This is the only Venezuelan rum ever completed in coffee barrels. The procedure of making premium Arabica coffee starts with the selection of the beans, which are then cold brewed without the use of water using 4-year-old rums.

The cold brew combination is aged for six months in carefully chosen American white oak barrels, letting the barrel absorb the deep coffee aromas and provide richness and maturity. After this duration, the cold brew is removed, and Santa Teresa 1796 is added to the barrels infused with coffee after undergoing its triple aging process using the exclusive Solera technique. This penultimate, three-month process lets the rum pick up faint coffee undertones.

As a result, there is an unmatched richness to the rum, with tastes of unique coffee, wood, and cacao nibs. This adaptable alcoholic beverage may be enjoyed plain, on the rocks, or in traditional mixed drinks such as the Old Fashioned, Carajillo, and Espresso Martini. Santa Teresa’s latest offering is particularly relevant given the growing trend of coffee-based cocktails, which Union reports has grown by 50% in only a year. These drinks appeal to contemporary tastes for tasty and sophisticated mixed drinks.

Santa Teresa is also introducing its updated and new brand visual identity as part of this launch. Its distinctive use of the solera process to produce its smooth and balanced rum and to explain its rich history and heritage are better conveyed by the new appearance. The brand’s next chapter is represented by Santa Teresa’s new visual identity, which pays tribute to centuries of history while adopting a more contemporary style. The product packaging has also been updated, with a new canister that incorporates a lid with the recognizable rosette pattern and describes the special production method. The bottle has new elements that pay homage to the 225-year heritage and tradition of Santa Teresa, such as a wax drip seal, family signature, and new logo.

Hacienda Santa Teresa has been family-owned and run for five generations, with a history extending over 225 years. All of the rum is produced on their ancient estate in Venezuela. The company’s adherence to quality and tradition highlights its commitment to aiding local communities via programs like Project Alcatraz, a social reintegration effort managed by the “Fundacion Santa Teresa.” The brand is likewise dedicated to perfection.
