Before the American Revolution, rum was the most consumed spirit drink in the country. Today, we are witnessing a renaissance, with California positioning itself as one of the largest consumer markets for rum in the US. market Part of a series that includes festivals in Puerto Rico, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, this event attracts hundreds of industry professionals, rum aficionados, tourists, and locals.

In this VIP seminar dedicated to Monymusk Overproof, you will explore more than just a spirit, embracing its unique culture and identity. Featured personalities from the iconic Jamaican brand Monymusk Rum will be present, including Robert Gordon, who is a blender, and Kimberly Williams, a Master Blender trainee. Why Rum Is Capturing the Attention of Whiskey Enthusiasts (4:15 pm – 5:00 pm)

Previously underappreciated by many whiskey connoisseurs, rum is starting to gain significant traction among bourbon aficionados. Which rums are attracting the attention of whisky lovers and why? Currently, numerous rum distilleries acquire their raw materials from other countries or from different suppliers within their national territory. It is rare to find brands or companies that offer 100% rum grown on their own farm. In these seminars, you will have the opportunity to learn about and taste exquisite rum produced 100% from your own cultivation (estate-grown).
The Holy Trinity and Other Tropical Potions (6:15 pm – 7:00 pm)

Rum cocktails are much more than a simple combination of lime and sugar. Each of these cocktails and spirits has fascinating stories, beliefs and traditions that are rooted in the islands they come from. In this seminar, we will explain in depth the history and rituals surrounding rum drinks from different Caribbean islands, so that the next time you prepare a batch of cocktails, you can accompany them with a repertoire of interesting stories.

We invite you to join our expert panelists, Steve Jefferson, Kevin Crossman, and Kyle Reutner, to delve into the rich history of this iconic cocktail in Hawaii. In addition, you will learn first-hand how contemporary Hawaiian rum producers are taking the key ingredient of this beverage to new horizons in the 21st century.
The Conceptual Mistake of Spanish Style Rums (2:50 pm – 3:40 pm)
There is clearly a misconception about how a Spanish-style rum should be made and what its flavor profile should be. In this seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to understand that rums can vary considerably between different Spanish-speaking countries. Panelists Fede J. Hernández, Miguel Sequeira Torres, and Otto Flores will explain and demonstrate how rum varies from country to country, providing a clear and educational perspective on this appreciated distillate.
