Our Editorial Standards & Commitment to Accuracy

Last updated: 27 August 2025

Accuracy First
Every article is edited for clarity, sourcing, and factual accuracy. Editors verify names, titles, dates, bottle details (ABV, age statements), and claims with primary sources whenever possible.

Pre-Publication Checklist
– Verify all factual statements against at least one reliable source.
– Confirm spellings, diacritics, and legal brand names.
– Check links and citations.
– Run a plagiarism scan.
– Add meaningful image alt text and descriptive captions.

Corrections & Clarifications
If we publish an error, we correct it promptly and add a correction note:
Correction (27 Aug 2025): This story misstated the vintage. It is 2007, not 2017.
Readers can request a correction via info@therumlab.com or the Contact Us form.

Use of Anonymous Sources
Allowed only when the information is significant, cannot be obtained on-the-record, and the source could face risk. Editors must know the source’s identity and assess credibility and motive.

Updates & Retractions
Substantive updates are labeled “Update” with date/time. In rare cases where a story is fundamentally flawed, we will retract it and explain why.

AI-Assistance Disclosure
AI tools may support background research, transcription, and language edits; no article is published without human review. Where AI materially contributed to analysis or generated visuals, we disclose that contribution.
