The Barbados Royals, a team in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and Mount Gay Rum Barbados, a rum company based in Barbados, have established a collaboration.
The brand has been designated as the official rum partner of the unit for the 2024 CPL season as part of the agreement.
The Barbados-based group used its social media accounts to promote the new partnership.
In another Instagram post, the Rum brand stated, “We are thrilled to announce that Mount Gay is the official rum sponsor of the Barbados Royals! As the spirit of Barbados, we couldn’t be prouder to support our home team as they take on the competition.”

Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd. is based in Barbados, the easternmost island in the West Indies, and is the maker of Mount Gay Rum, the oldest commercial rum distillery in the world.
The company’s earliest extant deed dates to 1703. Since 1989, Rémy Cointreau has been the principal stakeholder of Mount Gay Distilleries. With 110 countries where it is distributed, the US is the firm’s main export destination.
On September 1, the team will play the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, in the CPL 2024 season opener.
