Mangrove forecasts a rise in mezcal and spiced rum for autumn

Mangrove predicts sugary dishes, strong flavors, and straightforward beverages will dominate autumn and winter due to the impending chilly weather.

It is anticipated that flavors reminiscent of desserts, including chocolate and coffee, will be well-liked since they “give drinkers an extra dose of indulgence during darker evenings.”

The distributor expects a spike in demand for coffee liqueurs, which “add a refreshing dose of richness to simple or complex mixes,” from companies like Giffard’s Chocolate Syrup and Aluna Rum, Fair, and Vivir.

Mangrove believes that as winter approaches, people will become more interested in spices, whether they are savory like chilli or sweet like cinnamon. Spiced rums, in particular, will become increasingly popular. It sells goods including Bounty Spiced Rum and Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum.

Mangrove also believes mezcal, Tequila’s smokey cousin, has potential given the increasing interest in agave beverages. Casa Lumbre’s Ojo de Tigre Mezcal is a great option to introduce newcomers to the style.

Furthermore, the distributor anticipates that seasonal favorites like Sloeberry & Blackcurrant Gin from Portobello Road and The English Norfolk Nog will once again top popularity charts.

Classic Cocktails are coming back

Additionally, it thinks that traditional cocktails and concoctions with two to four ingredients are back in style: “Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of complex and occasionally extravagant techniques brought to bars; culinary techniques like freeze-drying and infusions, as well as smoking glasses and color-changing liquids, have taken hold.” However, there’s also a return to simpler things, which doesn’t make the beverages any less tasty.

Simple serves are accompanied by rich twists on the classic Margarita, Espresso Martini and Old Fashioned, which let the base spirit shine through.
