Malibu Offers a Variety of Flavored Rums in Its Portfolio

Malibu is widely recognized for its delightful coconut-flavored rum. However, the brand decided to take a further step and launch a juicy new expression, which comes at the perfect time with all the summer celebrations on the horizon: Malibu Strawberry Flavored Rum.

This is not the first time Malibu has experimented with tropical flavors. In the past, the brand also released flavors such as passionfruit, watermelon, and strawberry spritz-flavored spirits. Now, it is back with a strawberry-flavored rum liqueur bottled at 21% ABV.

The new expression is infused with ripe, sweet strawberry flavors, combining Malibu’s smooth and tropical-tasting white rum. The result? A fruity, refreshing rum that can be served neat over plenty of ice, with lemonade and ice, or in a classic cocktail like a Daiquiri.

Along with this flavored rum, Malibu included pre-mixed Strawberry Daiquiri cocktail cans in its catalog, with 5% ABV in a sleek 12 oz. can. These refreshing products will be a must-try for next summer’s parties. The Malibu canned cocktails are delicious and ready-to-sip, offering the signature flavor of Malibu in your favorite drinks.

Nowadays, Malibu, part of the Pernod Ricard Group, is one of the world’s leading flavored spirits brands, extensively used in iconic cocktails such as the Piña Colada and the Daquiri. The brand has built strong, long-lasting relationships with product suppliers and affiliates to work towards sourcing materials and ingredients responsibly and sustainably.

Through its parent company, the team has been able to hold its suppliers, affiliates, and partners to high responsibility and sustainability standards. For instance, coconut is the key flavor of their flagship product, Malibu Original. Malibu is devoted to promoting coconut farming in the Philippines, one of the top producers of tropical fruits in the world, as a result of their love for this fruit. The Filipino coconut farming industry is experiencing declining sales and production due to inefficient agricultural practices and a significant drop in yield.

By 2025, the brand pledged to positively impact the livelihood of 500 coconut farmers by increasing their income by 15% on average and their annual farm yield by 20% on average. They also focus on helping most of these farmers adapt their farming practices, guided by the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) tool developed by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform.

Moreover, 25% of all plastics in Malibu’s bottles come from recycled sources. Hence, they are working actively to increase this figure. In fact, their glass bottles are manufactured with approximately 30% recycled glass. They have committed that by 2025, 100% of Malibu bottles will be recyclable.
