Fans of Hololive VTuber Houshou Marine will soon be able to enjoy a unique rum inspired by her pirate persona. Marine’s Rum, set to launch today, October 18, 2024, takes influence from the adventurous spirit of the Caribbean, where pirates once roamed. Priced at 7,800 JPY (around $52.50 USD), this special rum will appeal to both Hololive fans and rum enthusiasts alike.
Meiri Shurui, the company behind Marine’s Rum, has a track record of crafting limited-edition drinks based on Hololive VTubers like Noel and Lamy. For Marine’s Rum, they’ve sourced a Caribbean rum base, a nod to the region’s rich pirate history. After importing, the rum undergoes additional aging in Meiri’s barrels, where Japan’s summer heat infuses it with sweet notes of vanilla and caramel.
The story behind Marine’s Rum celebrates the romanticized life of pirates—filled with freedom, loyalty, and discovery. It draws on the adventurous themes central to Houshou Marine’s character, offering a drink that captures the essence of exploration and camaraderie. The result is a smooth, easy-to-drink rum that can be enjoyed in various ways.
Meiri recommends trying Marine’s Rum mixed with Coke, a simple and refreshing way to enjoy it. For a twist, add lemon or lime to enhance its flavor profile. If you prefer a milder drink, just a few drops in cola can elevate the experience, making it suitable for those who prefer lighter cocktails.
Fans can place their orders starting today, October 18, 2024, with shipments set for late November 2024. Given the popularity of Hololive-themed products, this limited-edition rum is likely to be in high demand.
