The Australian coffee liqueur brand Mr Black has been collaborating with Bundaberg Rum to produce limited editions of flavored liqueurs. The most recent release was a coconut-flavored bottling.

Mr Black Coconuts, Rum, and Coffee Liqueur combines Mr Black’s signature cold brew Arabica coffee liqueur with Bundaberg Small Batch Reserve rum and coconuts. This one-of-a-kind spirit was rested for three months in ex-Port and Sherry, European, and American oak casks that had previously aged Bundaberg’s flagship rums. Finally, it is bottled at 25% ABV.

This drink is well-balanced. It smells like roasted coconuts, caramel, orange marmalade, vanilla, and nutmeg, and it tastes like rich coffee, dark chocolate, oak spice, butterscotch, and coconut. For both brands, this is a celebration of rum and coffee’s long and epic histories. The liqueur is available in some online shops.

Last year, the producers created a limited edition rum barrel-aged coffee liqueur for which Mr Black’s signature coffee-based spirit rested for three months in European and American oak casks that previously contained Bundaberg’s flagship rums.

Mr Black was founded in 2013 by designer Tom Baker and leading Australian distiller Philip Moore. In September 2022, Diageo acquired the company. Each bottle is made at their coffee roastery and distillery in Sydney. Their roasters source specialty beans from the best growing regions.

On the other hand, Bundaberg Rum is made by the Bundaberg Distilling Company in Bundaberg East, Queensland. It is one of the oldest distilleries in the business. It started making rum in 1888, and a year later, it made its first dark rum. In 2000, the Bundaberg Rum distillery was also sold to Diageo.

Bundaberg Rum has been distinguished with numerous awards. In 2011, Bundaberg Rum’s Master Distillers’ Collection rum was launched, with the first three releases, the 10-Year-Old, Port Barrel, and Golden Reserve, winning awards on the global stage. In 2016, it was the winner of the World’s Best Rum.
