Camikara Aged Rum Sweeps Global Awards and Makes History

In March 2026, Camikara aged rum—India’s first pure cane juice spirit—secured top honors at the Global Rum & Cachaça Masters and The Fifty Best. These accolades signal India’s emergence as a formidable contender in the premium rum market. Furthermore, this dual-continent victory places the brand among a select group of spirits that have impressed judges in both the UK and the USA.

Dominating the Global Rum & Cachaça Masters

At the 2026 Global Rum & Cachaça Masters in the United Kingdom, the 8-Year-Old expression of this spirit earned the Master Medal, the highest possible distinction. Simultaneously, the 3-Year-Old version secured its second consecutive Gold Medal. Consequently, Camikara aged rum now stands as the only Indian brand to win both Master and Gold honors in the same year.

Unanimous Success at The Fifty Best

The momentum continued as the 8-Year-Old Camikara aged rum received a Double Gold Medal from The Fifty Best. During a strict blind tasting, 17 expert judges gave the spirit unanimous top scores. Additionally, the 3-Year-Old expression earned Gold in the International Blend category, proving that the brand maintains exceptional consistency across its entire range.

Camikara Aged Rum: Redefining the Heritage of Indian Cane

“For a country with a deep history of sugarcane, this moment carries profound resonance,” explains Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing at Piccadily Agro Industries Limited. She notes that while ancient texts mention cane beverages, modern Indian rum often focused on industrial production. Now, global experts recognize Camikara aged rum for its artisanal craft, shifting the international perception of Indian spirits toward quality and technical excellence.

The Art of Authentic Craftsmanship

The success of Camikara aged rum stems from a production philosophy centered on purity. Unlike rums that use molasses or additives, the distillers harvest fresh sugarcane juice within 36 hours to preserve its natural character. Afterward, the spirit matures in American oak barrels under North India’s subtropical climate. These temperature swings accelerate the aging process, creating a rum that truly reflects India’s unique terroir.
