The famous Havana Club Máximo Extra Añejo rum has unveiled a new, more modern and eco-friendly design. According to Anne Martin, Global Marketing Director for Havana Club, the bottle design has changed, but the rum itself remains unchanged. The award-winning liquid, originally crafted by the first Primer Maestro del Ron Cubano, Don José Navarro, continues to be the ultimate expression of Cuban rum. The new bottle design features a crystal stopper engraved with the emblem of Havana, the Giraldilla, in contrasting gold, and the packaging incorporates sustainable materials made from certified wood by-products. Havana Club focuses on safeguarding Cuba’s natural resources and investing in the future of the environment and people of that country.

In terms of reducing the brand’s ecological footprint, the revamped packaging for Máximo Extra Añejo utilizes certified wood and achieves an 89% reduction in plastic components. Furthermore, the overall number of components in the packaging has been reduced by 20%. These changes align with Havana Club’s sustainable development objectives and their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Havana Club is dedicated to safeguarding Cuba’s natural resources and investing in the country’s environment and its people. They have implemented sustainable initiatives, such as eliminating the use of fossil fuels in their state-of-the-art distillery and repurposing sugarcane by-products into animal feed for local farmers. Additionally, they are introducing electric vehicles for their employees and installing solar panels to generate electricity, with the goal of meeting 100% of the distillery’s daylight electricity needs through solar power by 2024.

Respect for sustainable development has become a purchasing criterion for fans of the brand. Consumers are increasingly conscious of their environmental impact and seek out brands that prioritize sustainability. Havana Club has responded to this demand by reducing the weight of their glass bottles and eliminating the use of fossil fuels in their production process.

In summary, Havana Club has introduced a new design for their Máximo Extra Añejo rum, focused on showcasing its exceptional quality and embracing more sustainable practices. Commitment to sustainable development is core to the brand, and it is also an important factor for consumers who value the origin and heritage of the premium products they purchase. The recognition of UNESCO for the knowledge and expertise of the Maestros del Ron Cubano highlights the unique legacy of Cuban rum and its connection to Cuban culture, which is captured in every bottle of Havana Club.
